What are the different odds formats available?
Updated
Pinnacle offers two odds formats:
- Decimal odds
- American odds
You can switch between them using the drop-down menu at the top of any page. The potential profit is the same in both formats, only how the odds are displayed changes.
1. Decimal Odds
- Show the total return (stake + profit) for each unit staked.
- Example: 1.50 means $1.50 returned for every $1 bet ($0.50 profit).
- For Futures/Proposition bets, you can choose to enter either:
- The amount you want to risk → see potential profit.
- The amount you want to win → system calculates required risk.
2. American Odds
- Show how much you can win or need to risk based on $100 units.
- Positive odds (+) → profit from $100 bet. Example: +200 → risk $100 to win $200.
- Negative odds (–) → risk required to win $100. Example: –200 → risk $200 to win $100.
- Default settings: Negative odds use “To Win,” Positive odds use “Risk.” You can change this anytime.
